Originally called Adobe Reader For Windows Tablets (Version 1.0) released in Microsoft Windows Store in the second week of December 2012, based on Adobe Reader Mobile engine found on iOS, Android, Blackberry and Windows mobile versions, is the first application written by Adobe Systems for Metro Style Windows 8/RT interface. The current version only offers basic PDF reading features, the next patch will bring more complex features to pursue more full features of iOS and Android versions. Adobe Reader for Windows Tablets supports ARM and Intel x86/x86_64 architectures and can be used both through the touch and combination of a more classic mouse keyboard. Key features are:

  • Bookmarks and search features
  • Open a password protected PDF

On February 1, 2013, Adobe Reader for Windows Tablet has been officially renamed to Adobe Reader Touch to notify users of the possible version of Adobe Reader Hybrid Desktop Windows 8 (Modern UI or Desktop Version). Name changed, changes include:
