John Noble (born August 20, 1948) is an Australian actor and director of more than 80 dramas. He is best known for his role as Dr. Walter Bishop in the American Fox science fiction television series Fringe, and Henry Parrish in Sleepy Hollow's horror-action series. His most famous film role is Denethor in Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He also voted from DC Comics supervillain Scarecrow in the 2015 video game Batman: Arkham Knight , in which his character acted as the main antagonist. In 2015, she joins the main character of the Elementary Television series as Sherlock Holmes's father. She also serves as a doctor on the Australian TV series All Saints. In 2012, Noble was diagnosed with osteoporosis. Its charity, Noble Bones, helps raise awareness of the disease.

Noble lives in the US with his wife Penny Noble. They have three children: Daniel Noble, Jess Noble and actress Samantha Noble. In 2011, John Noble's hobby was reported as "music, painting, and narration". He studied theoretical physics, and requested that the authors of Fringe always keep things based on what could be scientifically feasible.
