History

In the late 18th and 19th centuries this site was part of the Mission of San Fernando Rey de Espaà ± a, until 1846 when it became part of Mission Ex Rancho San Fernando of André Pico, near AndrÃÆ' © s Pico Adobe. Mission Acres is an agricultural community created by early developers who created an area of one hectare for agricultural activities, with irrigation provided by Los Angeles Aqueduct in 1913.

The Californio Sepulveda family, returning to the Los Angeles Pueblo establishment, is the source of various Los Angeles venues, including the post-war Sepulveda community. Sepulveda Boulevard is the main north/south road through the North Hills, across the Sepulveda Pass to the south.

In 1992, the western population of Sepulveda, west of the San Diego Freeway, chose to secede from the eastern part to form a new community called North Hills. After that, the value of the property east of the San Diego Freeway on Sepulveda goes down. The city of Los Angeles eventually changed the name of the remaining Sepulveda into the North Hills as well. The city then formed a new sub-neighborhood "North Hills West" which started west of highway 405 and went to Bull Creek/Balboa and from Roscoe to Devonshire. The eastern part becomes a sub-neighborhood of the North Hills East.

The North Hills of the Western Hills are west of the 405-San Diego Toll Road, along Wash Creek Wash, South of Devonshire, and North of Roscoe. The Northern Frontier The eastern hills are east of the San Diego 405 Freeway, along Pacoima Wash, South of Lassen, and North of Roscoe.
