Basic Elements is the Swedish hip-hop group Eurodance formed in 1992. The group returned in 2005 and is still releasing new material.

From MalmÃÆ'¶ in Sweden this group originally consisted of rapper/singer Peter Thelenius (Peter), and keyboardist Cesar Zamini, accordion Branko J. Nuss, and vocalist Zetma Prembo. The next vocalist is Saunet Sparell, Marie Fredriksson (not to be confused with Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson). Currently, the band is there from Peter Thelenius and Jonas Wesslander. Branko J. Nuss continued to post on his YouTube channel, Branko w/a Accordion , but only an independent work after he left the group in 2014.

Histori

Peter Thelenius and Cesar Zamini started the group in 1992, looking for a singer through the labor office and found Zetma. In 1993, they made a record deal with EMI Records, releasing their first single "Move Me". In 1994, "Move Me" was acted upon by hits such as "The Promise Man", reaching number 1 on the Swedish charts.

In 1995, Zetma left the band (due to her pregnancy) and Saunet Sparell replaced it. The new album "The Ultimate Ride" (including the singles "The Ride" and "The Fiddle") was released. Also, Peter and Caesar started to have disagreements about the band's future, this caused Cesar to leave the band. Peter has since continued with the band itself. The group's third album ("Star Tracks") sounds more like a 1970s disco. Then Sparell leaves because he thinks that Thelenius only cares to be famous, and therefore the project was put in the ice. In 1997, Peter released his solo album ("Trust Then Pain") under the name "Peter". In 1998, Element Base returned with a new album (which included the original Eurodance sound) with Marie Fredriksson (not to be confused with singer Roxette) as a new singer.

From 1999, the two members had a hiatus, but in 2005, the group returned with their 1995 hit remake "This Must Be a Dream" and with Mathias Olofson as the band's new member. In February 2006, they released a new single called "Raise the Gain" with a slightly different sound. On February 7, 2007, the group released their comeback album "The Empire Strikes Back". Then in 2007, Marie Fredriksson left the group and was replaced by Andrea Myrander as singer and Jonas Wesslander as rapper. In 2008, the album "The Truth" was released. The band also released a new song titled "Got U Screaming" (2010). In January 2011, it was announced on the home page of the group that officially left Andrea Myrander. A few months later, in May 2011, a new single called "Turn Me On" was announced during the concert. It was posted on YouTube on May 27th.

In April 2012, Basic Element signed an agreement with the Swedish record label Family Tree and on April 24, a song titled "Shades" (featuring Max C and Taz) was posted on YouTube. It was announced that it will be released as a single in June. The group is still lacking female singers and songs so it only features male vocals. The single also marks a change of style as it differs significantly from other material released after their 2005 comeback. A YouTube commentator describes it as a mixture of Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, and "We Found Love" by Rihanna and Calvin Harris. Vocalist Max C appeared in the Swedish House House single Mafia Axwell "I Found You". The Basic Element will also be an opening for Avicii at the annual "Russens dag" event in Tusenfryd, Norway.
