The Human Element is a full-length debut album released on January 21, 2011 by Oshawa, Ontario rock duo The Standstills. The album was recorded from the floor in a cottage studio in Fenelon Falls, Ontario with engineer Damien Jacobs. The album is self-produced with the award-winner JUNO Dan Brodbeck handling mixing tasks. All songs are written by The Standstills except Black Betty, originally by Ledbelly. The music video released for Black Betty on June 21, 2011 was filmed by Joe Andrus. Video The Human Element
