New Richmond High School is a public high school located southwest of Clermont County, Ohio, about twenty-five kilometers east of downtown Cincinnati. New Richmond High School is a four-year comprehensive high school with a student enrollment of approximately 750. A total of 75 other high school students receive special vocational training by attending one of the career development campuses at the Grant Vocational School. This is the only high school in the Excluded New School District District District. The New Richmond High School has been rated very well by the state of Ohio for three years and the entire district is now rated as excellent by the Ohio Department of Education.

History
The nearest two townships wanted to be combined with the Excluded New School District Districts (NREVSD) at the end of the fifties. Pierce Township School became part of the New Richmond District School District Except in 1955, followed by Monroe School in 1959. The Moscow School was consolidated with the New Richmond District in 1962 and functioned in the New Richmond District until it closed in 1980.
Schools on Market Street get crowded. As a result, 73 acres (300,000 m 2 ) farmland was purchased from Maud Arnold at Bethel-New Richmond Road to build an elementary school. New Richmond Elementary (NRE) was dedicated on May 18, 1958. It left Market Street School for grades 7-12. Then, in 1965, New Richmond High School (NRHS) was established next to NRE, leaving high school on Market Street. Nine years later in 1974, high school was built on the same basis as NRE and NRHS. This is now known as the Main Campus.
Until 1980 the administrative office was placed in the Market Street building. They moved to Secondary School and in 1983, the building sold for $ 80,100. For the next seven years, the building remained empty and left to worsen. In 1990, the council bought back the building with the original sale price of $ 80,100. Extensive renovations and repairs were carried out, and the building was once again used for public use.
The Market Street building was dedicated on August 27, 1995. The total cost of repair and renovation is $ 2,500,000. It now serves as a community resource center. It is home to the NREVSD administrative office, the New Richmond High School Graduation Academy, and the Men and Women Club in New Richmond
In 1997, a new elementary school was built to replace SD Pierce. This new school, Locust Corner Elementary (LCE), is located behind Pierce Elementary. Pierce's building has been destroyed. (Click here to see pictures.) Monroe and NRE underwent major renovations as well. The students and staff at Monroe Elementary spent a school year, 1994-1995, in a mobile classroom during construction. Their sacrifice paid off when they moved back to the renovated and enlarged building.
History sometimes repeats itself. Just like what happened a hundred years earlier at Market Street School, NRE was moved to another building, Pierce's base building, while renovations were being made. Fortunately, this time not because of severe security problems. Half of NRE students and staff spent the 1998-1999 school year at the Pierce building, while the other half - students from the Moscow area - spent the year at the Monroe Elementary.

Financial Crisis
The new Richmond Board of Education has been presented with a plan to use the reduction and ask the district electorate to approve a future capital increase levy to offset the projected losses of $ 8.1 million The New Village School Released Richmond will experience after 2016 due to deregulation of electricity facilities in Ohio.
The contingency plan, filed by New Richmond's Adam Bird inspectors at the joint school board session and the December 6th Financial District Planning Committee meeting, anticipates a $ 4.7 million annual savings in 2017 by not replacing the 35 teachers and 14 support staff expected to retire in the next five years.
The plan received the support of the financial planning committee, which included Scott Henderson, Jeanie Williams and Joe Middeler from the New Richmond business community, and Laura Jones's parents, Rich Grogan and Mark Miller. Birds and committees are requested to come up with recommendations by the January board meeting.
When Ohio deregulated electric utilities in 2001 and reduced the assessed rate from 88 to 25 percent, the state began to impose a per kilowatt hourly utility tax and agreed to divide that income with the affected school district for 15 years in the form of deregulation payments.
"This plan was born out of necessity," Bird said. "This change is being considered because of our financial estimates."
This plan is based on district retirement surveys made in September. Bird notes that there is no guarantee there will be an anticipated amount of retirement and for that reason he includes a power reduction clause (RIF) each year of the 5-year plan.
"Reduction forces will be used if anticipated retirees do not occur," Bird said.
The plan also calls for changes in school days beginning in 2011-12 to make the transportation department more efficient, transforming the Locust Corner Elementary and Monroe Elementary into P-4 and New Richmond Elementary buildings into 5-6 classrooms in 2014- 15 school years and going to a three-level busing system and discussing a permanent repair levy with the community within the next five years.
"The decline is the way to go," said board member Kevin Walriven, who showed a $ 2,272,474 reduction in operating costs over the past 10 years with 25 position reductions due to friction. "When you RIF, you do not lose an experienced teacher, you lose a novice teacher."
Since 2001 New Richmond schools have reduced administrators from 16 to 12, classroom teachers from 179 to 163 and classroom support staff from 41 to 36.
If all pensions materialized over the next five years, New Richmond will need to transfer teachers based on their certification to fill vacancies.
New Richmond also faces the possibility of an additional loss of $ 1.4 million per year if Duke Energy wins in its request to the state to have the value of non-generated property (meters, poles, substations) inherited.
5 million levies of permanent repairs may be considered in the next five years and will generate $ 2.5 million annually for use to maintain school facilities, buy computers, buses and textbooks, and capital expenditures.
Changes in planned expenditures and revenue increases of $ 7.2 million over 5 years will amount to $ 2.3 million in managing the 2016 deficiency in revenues.
Bird said the second phase of the plan to address the remaining $ 2.3 deficiencies would be addressed by examining each plunder to ensure it was important, continuing to lobby legislators to replace deregulation payments with additional kilowatt income tax funding, and to closely monitor the State Foundation Program as it progressed in the biennial budgeting process.
"There will be three Ohio biennial budgets, two presidential elections and another gubernatorial election before the decision is needed," Bird said.
Ohio's biennial budget could be a problem long before 2016.
Ohio faced a $ 8 billion shortfall in its next biennial budget in June and Governor-elect John Kasich said the shortfall would be made by budget cuts. Cutting may mean a 10 to 20 percent cut in state aid to schools. Richmond received only 15 percent of its current income of $ 26 million from the state, compared with 43 percent for Batavia, 57 percent for Goshen, and 66 percent for Bethel.
"What used to be an asset having two power plants in the school district could become a liability for society by 2017," Bird said. "The assessed value of power plants expands the total value of school districts on which the foundations of school and district foundations receive less state aid."

Richmond New High School
New Richmond Middle School serves 7th and 8th grade students. The school was built in 1971 and has a cement facade. The school is relatively basic because of New Richmond high school facilities. The school has a fitness center (seat 400), cafeteria (seat 240), library with computer lab, 18 common classrooms, 3 science rooms, art space, 2 computer labs, chorus and a band room.
New Richmond Primary School
The New Richmond Elementary School is one of three primary schools in the New Richmond School District that serves K-6 grades. The School was the first at the opening of the main campus in 1958. The school includes a gym and cafeteria separated by a large folding wall, a stage that opens to the gym, library, literature computer laboratory, technology lab, studio TV, two preschool rooms, science, shared space, facilities for music and visual arts, and 27 common classrooms. Recent publications indicate that NRE will soon be accommodating all 5th and 6th grade students in the district.
Athletic Facilities
The campus also includes the best athletic facilities that include a set of 3 tennis courts and tennis courts, 2 baseball/softball courts, 1 training ground and a newly added 7 million dollar stadium, including artificial grass, buildings for both teams, the home team (The Lions') including weight training rooms, paramedical offices and trainer offices. The stadium, which is used for football, soccer, track and field matches, including a track of 8 tracks, high jumps, pole vaulting holes, and long jump areas. The seats in the home team are very ergonomic, including the real seat and not the traditional bench/bench. The sound and light systems are all controlled from the state-of-the-art A/V space above the host team stand, and include camera and camera post. Furthermore, the pitches, new age playing surfaces, have been fitted onto past grass soccer fields that increase durability and allow it to be used for other field sports such as football and lacrosse. The campus also has a million dollar baseball/softball complex featuring grass fields.

Campus Corner Locust
The Locust Corner Elementary School is one of three primary schools in the New Richmond School District and is the only building on L.C.E. campus. The school was built in 1997 making it the newest N.R. school. The school is approximately 85,000 square feet (7,900 m 2 ) and consists of 23 academic classrooms, tech laboratories, literacy laboratories, libraries, facilities for music and visual arts, a gym and a cafetorium. The gym and cafetorium are open to each other, making it a multi-use space. The cafeteria connected to the stage allows for a convincing performance space for the school's annual music, performed by fifth and sixth graders.
Monroe Campus
Monroe is a primary school in N.R. the school district and includes a fitness center (on stage), cafeteria, library, and three academic class wings with a total of 34 classrooms. The second and third class wings are circular and located at the lower level. The fourth, fifth, and sixth wings are two stories and are located between the 2nd/3rd wing and the main wing. The main wing is located on the main floor at the front of the building and houses pre-school, kindergarten, and first class. The Monroe campus consists of the district transportation office and the Monroe Elementary School. The transport office even has its own "washing bus". There are also 4 baseball diamonds located behind the transportation office.
Street Market Street Building
The Market Street Building is the original School on N.R. district. Recent publications indicate that NR School will sell this building in the near future to cover financial shortages.
Girls And Girls Club
This is a program to monitor children before and after school. The club is in an old school gym/auditorium.
Graduation Academy
This is a credit recovery program for New Richmond high risk students who will not pass without an accelerated pace from the classroom. This program displays the NovaNET online class.

The following administrators have offices in this building: The Superintendent (Adam Bird), Treasurer (Mike Mowery), Technology Coordinator (Matthew Prichard), and Director of Student Services (John Frye).
Student
The body of New Richmond students consists of about 750 students and is predominantly homogeneous, comprising mainly from middle to lower Caucasian students.
Faculty
In the '06 -'07 school year, music director, Doug Heflin, was nominated as a Wal-Mart teacher this year. The average teacher experience of New Richmond High School is 16 years.
Curriculum
All students in grades 10-12 are required to have at least 20 hours of community service to pass.

Troubadours
The Troubs is a choir group of 119 students, junior and senior. The group has appeared in the Heritage National Music Festival at Washington D.C., Carnegie Hall in New York City and at Spring Break 2011, Annapolis, Maryland. The Troub has recently been named the winner of the Pontiac Create your Commercial contest and received $ 10,000. In March 2008, Troubadours competed in the Heritage Music National Festival in Chicago and got first place. The troubadours bring home gold in the competition and the women take home the silver. In March 2011, Troubadours once again competed in "The National Heritage Music Festival" but this time in Annapolis. The Troubadours as a group took home the first gold medal for a mixed group in school history. The women also took home the gold ranks and the men took home the silver.
Band
NRHS Band consists of 96 members. The band performed in football games during the fall, at home basketball games in the winter and performing concerts and jazz bands beginning in late autumn until the end of the school year. Notable performances include UC Band Day where many bands including New Richmond performed with the Cincinnati Bearcats band during halftime at Nippert Stadium. Their showdowns tend to follow the classic rock genre with pieces from The Beatles, Carlos Santana, Chicago, Jackson 5, Journey, Rush, Led Zeppelin and Styx. The band is currently under the direction of Mike McKinley.
Athletics
All students can participate in athletics for free in this district. The 1999-2000 Children's Football Team of New Richmond High School achieved an unbeaten 11-0-4 record, while winning the Southern Buckeye Conference championship. The team is trained by Denny Hopewell, only in his second year as a university coach.
